Something needs to be done. I don't see how they expect people to live like this. It's hard enough even with 2 parents working to support a family, but worrying about what necessity you'll have to give up just to keep the heat on is a downright shame.

We simply can't afford these increases. MY husband depends on our electric to survive, due to his oxygen machines and things..but..my children still need to eat!
Every month it's going up. Soon a lot of us in this area won't be able to have it at all!

No way my bill jumps $200 higher when we use same amount of power and we only heat with wood/coal!!

I was charged over $200 in fees for one month and my one month bill for our garage location where we just wash cars during the daytime was $669. No power used in late evenings. Nights or early morning hours. This is not just its unfair to the people! Lots of us just cant afford this. A lot of people i know have bills that have doubled this month.

I live in a small two bedroom apartment and I'm barely there. I stay most of the month at my mother in laws because of her illness. When I leave I turn my heat off so I don't use electric because I can't afford to pay the bill... The only income I have is a little bit of child support I get every month if he pays it for that month and raising a kid.. having high electric bills and taking advantage of ppl isn't right!!

Our power bill has been over 300 dollars since we got it turned on. Our deposit was almost 300 too. Outrageous.

so ya get this, i called about my bill an told them NO WAY MY BILL IS $275.77 for the month Cuz my last bill was $160.57 an it jumped to $115.00 in a month !! NO WAY , i called and said, i want someone to come an check my meter ! OK, OK, the REP said, hold on a sec ? a new screen has pop in she says, if we come out to check your meter there will a $21.dollar charge for that and if we have to test the meter there will $ 48. dollar addition fee for that.. I LOST MY MIND !!! ARE YOU JOKING RIGHT NOW ! YOUR KIDDING, RIGHT ??? no sir that what the screen is saying here.. so i have to pay for you to come out,, for what I;m paying for ALREADY !!! Yes sir, that's what's it's saying here... dose it cost me anything to complain about this too !!! No sir, it dose not. but can file that for you, if want.. FOLKS something has to be done about this. People that have fixed income can live like this. there is no real reason for this kind of cost every year like this. it's like there waiting for winter to come an hit us with theses fees knowing we have to pay or they'll cut us off.. an i know it cause they did me years ago,, even tho i payed the bill and they would not turn it back cause i was a DIME SHORT ON THE BILL !! YES A DIME SHORT!!! so i had to go an pay $3. dollars to a payment place for a FLIPPING DIME ! A DIME they would turn it back cause i REALLY OWNED THEM A DIME !! UNREAL.. something has to be done. I just received my bill and it was crazy!! $613.42 to keep my family warm?? Really AEP? I have never in my life had a bill like this....So do I feed my family or do I pay my electric bill?? This is nonsense, this needs to stop. Nobody can afford these rates!!!!
