Wembdon Football Club (adults) are delighted to announce that after a very positive meeting with the Trustees of the Village Hall, we can confirm that The Green at Wembdon will be our home from 2018. We would like to thank all the Trustees, Dan Bingham and everyone at Wembdon Cricket Club, Nick Searle and all at Wembdon JFC and all the residents and members of the public for their fantastic support. It's a great feeling to know, that a 6 year old starting football now, has the pathway to play right through to their forties!! We feel that we have teams that the village can be proud of, and that we hope the people of Wembdon will enjoy watching if they venture down on a Saturday afternoon. Please come along! We know you'll enjoy it!! We are very proud to call these wonderful facilities our home. Thank you from all at Wembdon FC (adults)

I would like to see the senior team back in the Parish. The Green would make a great venue. Failing that old Wembdon CC site by the school

Why not have adults there... Should be used for all an not just for the cricket and kids football..

Perhaps if you have a Trustee to represent you at The Green meetings this may make it easier to get backing from the Trust.

To whom it may concern,
I am writing this to express my disappointment with the decision not to allow the adult team of Wembdon FC to play at the recently built Wembdon community centre.
Having been part of Wembdon FC from day 1, which started just over 10 years ago with a group of friends who were from the village, I have seen the club progress from the bottom of division 5 to recently being promoted to division 1, a very proud moment indeed. However what is an even prouder moment was the fact that our legacy looks to continue due to our association with the under 16 Wembdon teams. Our management team to their credit have gradually immersed these youngsters into our beloved Wembdon FC, of which without them we wouldn't have won the league last year. One of the younger players Sam Dunster was even our player's player of the season, which words can’t describe how fully deserved this was. For myself and other senior members of the team to act as role models to these youngsters has been a pleasure and long may it continue, however I can’t stress enough how integral the use of the Wembdon community centre will encourage this future success that we have already seen in such a short space of time.
We at Wembdon FC are an honest bunch of lads and will bring an energetic and togetherness to the community in the cold winter months, but will also look to support the summer teams in creating a vibrant venue. We do not shy away from challenges and will always offer our services in order to establish the longevity of this establishment.
I truly hope that the bigger picture is seen here and that you can allow a community football team play at their community facilities.

My granddaughter played for Wembdon Girls and they done a lot of work raising money for this build as did the boys so they should be allowed to play on a pitch that they contributed too

I feel this would be beneficial because there are facilities for the club and its about time wembdon played in there original place instead of pawlett.

I would like to add my support to the need to allow adult football matches at the green at Wembdon. This community venue has been supported and provided for by all aged members of our community. The notion that one particular age group in football should be excluded does not justify expectations for this excellent community facility. It is unreasonable for this venue to be encouraging activities for all ages but at the same time restricting this one particular exception!
