3515 40th St. is currently a vacant lot that has been overgrown and full of trash, in recent weeks it has been mowed and our family has been cleaning the trash and clearing the curb. The goal is to transform this into a Community Green Space utilized to address our current neighborhoods cultural and food desert status. By providing an open air civic space we can encourage greater community connections and accountability. By having access to a meeting space in the epicenter of Wards 1,2,3 and 5 we will be able to bring in art and farmers markets as well as provide an inviting and open venue for community watch meetings and opportunities for study groups or family friendly activities such as Spades and Chess tournaments. This area of our city does not currently nurture community growth because there is not currently a location for such development. We welcome your support of this endeavor as a catalyst for future development of Community Green Spaces throughout Meridian.

I am truly overwhelmed by the momentum behind this project. It is clearly your passion for this space that is driving this forward. This belongs to all of you.

This would be so good for the kids around here. We really need a place to just hang out and be safe.
