There needs to be more thought given for all of the Weekend and Evening Adjuncts, with regard to the access "privileges" and other working conditions...we all as Educators are not metaphorically supposed to "shoot ourselves in the foot"...and Admin leaders start thinking of others as "same team", not a hostile force. Better living through better planning" ! THANKS !!

It's quite atrocious in the way in one of the most prestigious universities in the nation: the City University of New York treats its adjunct professors. I am appalled to find myself living in such hardship when I make it my absolute best to lift the consciousness of the new generation to advocate for their Rights and to achieve their dreams. It's ironic when the person teaching is not practicing what she preaches.

We tried to get our union leaders to give us an open 15 hour workload limit. By their own admission, CUNY wants this. It is President Bowen and the EC who do not. This is why we have come up with a the 12 hour compromise which they have consistently rejected as well. It is President Bowen and the Executive Members of the Delegate Assembly who are insisting on maintaining the 9 hour limit even in face of the 3 to 4 hour transformation of core course we depend on. This ruling denies me the opportunity to teach an extra class that has been offered to me before because I would be one hour over the limit. As an adjunct, my livelihood is tenuous anyway. The rule should allow for more flexibility

I am totally in favor of the flexibility this provides and the opportunity to teach more hours.

I strongly support this alternative of teaching 12 hours at one campus.

I signed it but I don't see why it is limiting to 2 campuses. Why not just say 15 hours total within CUNY system and you divide it as you want/can?

The current rule is very oddly specific in the way it attempts to achieve its stated goal. The specific provisions serve no purpose well. The proposed changes will be a big improvement all aground, better serving the needs of adjuncts, their departments, and their students. Please enact these changes.

Article 15.2 creates deplorable conditions for CUNY Adjuncts. I thought the union was supposed to protect our best interests, I was wrong. The union has made it impossible for adjuncts at CUNY to earn a fair salary. The union has also created an environment where hard working, dedicated, awarding winning adjuncts (like myself and so many others) who have been at CUNY 15+ years are limited to an unrealistic credit cap and academic departments are forced to hire more adjuncts with inferior credentials to fill open sections. Thank you Barbara Bowen and our union for lowering our salaries, harming our academic departments, and ruining the reputation of good adjuncts across CUNY.

As an adjunct who has spent multiple semesters trying to make a living by running back and forth between far-flung CUNY campuses, I could not be more opposed to this highly arbitrary rule, which seems to do nothing more than make lives more complicated and exacerbate the hardships and exploitative nature two-tier faculty model.

There is no flexibility regarding 6 additional hours at second campus. It is very rare if ever when one course consists of 6 hours. That is why many adjuncts are ending up with only 2 hours in the second college.

Please allow 12 contact hours/week for adjuncts for each CUNY campus!

If I have the time and can handle the extra courseload I should be able to take on more than 3 classes at one college. The Union is supposed to support our best interests - not thwart them.

Part time is usually up to 20 hours since full time is 80 hours a week. Adjuncts should be allowed up to 20 hours in any combination of CUNY campuses.

I am definitely in favor of 20 hours in total in any combination. I agree that the current rule creates too many problems and we are forced to run around between campuses.
