With 1 in 5 students having dyslexia our schools need to know how to identify and support these students.

I am so frustrated that the professionals at my son's school are ignorant about dyslexia. We need to have it recognized by NYS so everyone can become informed and work with it successfully.

This is so important and should be part of the screening process.

My son did not learn to read in public school. In 8th grade, he was still not reading I sent him to the Gow school. It cost a fortune, but he learned to read and saved his self esteem. I am still paying for his 7th and 8th grade education to learn to read, 10 years later. No child or parent should have to go through this. The public school should provide this service.

It's about time, if we want our children/schools to be number one, having assistance and recognizing dyslexia can only help. Put the money where it can do the most good. PLEASE!!
