I had to have my daughter independently tested as the school would not address it. That is ridiculous. Now the fight is getting her the correct teaching method. It is a daily struggle and she has an IEP.

I have a dyslexia 7 year old. Luckily I caught it early but I am appalled at how many children aren’t being screened for dyslexia. Early detection is the key to preventing illiterate children

NY -- Stand up for our children with learning differences!! Public schools are not providing the appropriate services our children need. Policy makers, please listen and make a difference in these students lives NOW!!

I’m struggling with my 6 year old daughter who is falling behind in her school work but when tested for academic achievement she’s fine the school won’t consider dyslexia so frustrating!
