My son has dyslexia and I need help getting the school to help him. They seem to have every reason not to or say that they are doing all they are able to. It takes me making a lot of stinks and almost all school year every year to get them to listen which only puts him further behind. I am paying out of pocket for a lot of his help and I had to for his diagnosis on paper. I need help with gathering all the information that I can possibly use for my next IEP meeting. I feel they try and leave my child behind. As of now he absolutely loves schools and tries his best with a positive attitude. I really don't want that to change but fear it may due to school being so challenging.

We need to make diagnosing resources mire availabe. I have 2 children who I'm pretty sure they are dyslexic yet I can't afford to actually have them assessed and they don't qualify for special services or accommodations because they are "making it" despite their struggle. It's very frustrating and things need to change!

Although we were fortunate that our sons did qualify for IEP's it still doesn't really help in all areas needed. The umbrella that dyslexia is under in the law makes it hard to get properly diagnosed.

I have a very bright, talented boy who wanted the "experience" of high school. To my surprise I was fought on enrolling him. There is nothing in place to help a child with Dyslexia in his school district! Only roadblocks!

My daughter is 7 years old she will be a second grader. Suzanne was diagnosed with dyslexia this last school year. Please help my child succeed first not fail before they have to help her with her disability.1 in 5 kids have a form of dyslexia. God only knows how many children would have more selfesteem and succeed in school if the school is held accountable. More children and familys will benefit from services that don't have the money and resources for the help they need. This bill is so crucial to our children. There test scores will soar. More children will graduate and not drop out from not being able to perform at school. There is no worse feeling than sitting in a class room or any other group and being called upon to read and you can't read fluently or comprehend what you just read. And it is just as important to keep cursive writing on taught in school kids with dyslexia do better with cursive.Help our children.
