- SVU’s penultimate episode of season 23, Confess Your Sins to be Free, was no more than a trigger and a character assassination for Olivia Benson.
If Olivia had tried to forgive Burton for her own healing, we could accept that, but when she turned her back to a victim, that was when we realized this isn’t the Olivia Benson we’ve lived for 23 seasons.
The Olivia Benson would have arrested Burton and fought for the survivor’s rights.
We think the powers involved should make statements addressing how much this episode hurt loyal fans who have taken comfort in Olivia for years.
If you really want to do better, remove this episode from Peacock and Hulu so we can all forget it ever existed.

This episode was a major “F YOU” to survivors and turned Olivia from someone survivors felt comfortable with into someone they wouldn’t want to trust. It’s truly disgusting.

Are you kidding me? They completely ruined 20 years of character development in one hour. I dont even recognize her anymore watching this trash.
