Please take these basic steps to ensure the community is not negatively impacted by this encampment, especially for the safety of the school grounds and the young children who walk to school.

No encampment..very bad for nearby school children and Aurora has its own drug problem. I suggest putting it on the other side of I 5 since we have 3 and they have none. Very unbalanced.

This will not help the homeless in a meaningful, long term way, and will very likely increase crime in an already crime-ridden neighborhood. Please seek out effective solutions!

I strongly object to the concept of a 'low-barrier to entry' encampment - the city's first - in this location, particularly with its proximity to nearby schools and the Aurora corridor.

This is a terrible idea. We need a place for homeless shelter, but not a place for active drug/alcohol use in the middle of a neighborhood and near a school. With drugs goes crime and prostitution I thought we just spent fifteen years cleaning these up on the Aurora corridor and now you want to bring them back? Is the entire council fucking nutz?

One wouldn't need an elementary school education to realize that it is a terrible idea to put an encampment of possible substance abusers near an elementary school. Let's hold our elected officials accountable for the policies they are forcing upon us!

I am concerned about the security of kids that will grow up close to this neighborhood. Also worried this being so close to a new middle and elementary school

I live around the corner from this empty lot and if this goes in I wil be moving and I will be taking the 3 businesses I own with me, out of the city. We already deal with high levels of crime, drug use, trash, dirty needles, prostitution, homelessness, stealing with little to no police present.

The city needs to be proactive on this so the neighborhood does not absorb the brunt of costs/clean up

We are not serving the needs of OUR community. We are drawing more and more homeless from out of state. We need to address this before we are deluged.

In addition to the requests made in this petition, I would add that this encampment should draw almost exclusively from our existing hyper-local homeless population along the northern Aurora Corridor. We cannot support more here when we are already way over our heads with addicts, homeless, crime, and biohazard litter. We need help here now--we cannot be the City's way to half-solve city-wide problems of issues with placing addicts and those with mental health concerns.
