We, students of Loara High School, are currently working on our civics project and have decided to address the issue regarding the danger of visually impaired individuals at crosswalks. Our goal is to gather enough signatures to take to the city council and take a step closer in order to add audio to the crosswalks and protect the lives of many individuals. We decided to address this issue because many individuals who are visually impaired are putting their lives at risk when they are oblivious to when it is safe for them to cross the street. Because certain crosswalks in Anaheim don't have an audio telling them when it safe for them to cross and/or counting down when time is running out for them to cross the street, the life of these individuals are in a horrendous amount of danger. A visually impaired instructor was asked what he does when he cannot tell when it is ok for him to cross the street, his response was that he chooses life, he chooses to wait because he has a family and kids to come home to. We are asking YOU to choose life! By signing this petition you are choosing the life of students, teachers, kids, parents, wife and husbands.
