A year ago now I was in the park with my godson when a disabled lad was sitting in his wheel chair while his sister played on the swings, she asked him to play as she was only young and did not understand.

Having worked with many special need children over the years and still now, I see many children unable to go to the park and play like their siblings due to the fact the play areas are not accessible for wheel chair users.

I believe all parks council parks and private parks should have money spent on them so that children in wheel chairs can play as well rather than watch on, yes many are severely disabled but they are still aware and still smile just by being on something like a swing.

With out getting into a debate about how the government should be spending money I feel this is a priority and is something that makes a massive difference to any child's childhood. We are all trying to show that special needs children are just like any other child yet they are not given the option to do something like any child does which is playing in the park.

The Prime Minister has a disabled son so he should know first hand how important this is so once thousands of signatures are signed I will personally take to downing street along with a DVD of comments and films from parents who have disabled children and are in need.

Every child all over the world should be allowed to play and have a smile on their young faces and there should be no boundaries in the way, I will personally make it my mission along with other charities and the families and the public to do everything possible to make the right people listen and make every local park accessible .

I do not plan to save the world and no praise is needed and no glory intended, I do not have a disabled child but have seen first hand for many years how important this is, no child should be told they can not play on a swing or go down a slide. A lot of children spend every day stuck in a wheel chair watching everything around them while other children run skip or go on a bike and play in the play areas, every disabled child deserves the right to live as normal life as possible. I will not stop until this is put in place but can not achieve it alone.
