I realize I am late to the party, but as I am just seeing this message, I feel compelled to at least express my opinion. With the high concentration of Clinical Research Professionals in the area, dissolution of the Chapter seems to be quite a drastic move. While some may not be as active others, the interest still appears to remain in keeping the local Chapter alive. Regarding the resignations of the most of the local board, more information than has been shared here is needed and quite frankly owed to those of us who are members. I do however understand not presenting that information in a public forum such as this. Perhaps another venue would offer such an opportunity for further discussion.

It doesn't sound to me like we're getting the whole story from Marysasser, I'd like to hear from the rest of the board that voluntarily resigned and the Executive Director of ACRP before taking any of this as fact. There's no way they'd dissolve the chapter, they might restructure it (not necessarily a bad thing) but not dissolve it...Marysasser is just inciting fear imo.

It is uncertain to the majority of the Chapter members why newly elected officers who served for 5 weeks resigned their terms. I see from LinkedIn that you work with one of these former officers and suggest that you invite a dialogue with him for more information.

I would like to know why the officials all resigned on the same day? These are clinical research professionals in our industry who have shown years of dedication to the education and awareness of clinical research in our community. As a current paid local member, I believe that we need full transparency as to why this chapter has come to this point. Yes, I agree that a local chapter is needed, but I will not agree to sign this petition prior to understanding what the true current state of affairs is.

As a former local chapter officer many years ago and one who assisted in growing the chapter when it was struggling, it would show a blatant disregard for all volunteers who have supported the chapter to dissolve the chapter. Whatever the issue, surely professionals can come to solution without dissolving the local chapter.

I have a few concerns/questions before I can make an "informed" decision. Why did the newly elected officers resign? Why would the national chapter ask the RTP chapter president to step down? Who, at the national level, has said that they want to dissolve the RTP chapter? As a new member of the RTP chapter I would definitely need more information before signing a petition or even supporting the appointment of a new board by a president who has been asked to step down from their position, by the Executive Director of ACRP. I'm sure this is no witch hunt as ACRP, on a national level, has much larger fish to fry.

I support the current Chapter Board of Officers as proposed and the continued existence of the RTP Chapter. I appreciate the educational presentations, face-to-face networking, and especially the annual Fall Conference for certification hours. With so many clinical research professionals in the RTP area (CROs, sponsors, sites, academia), it would be disappointing if ACRP cannot support an RTP chapter.

I rely on the ACRP RTP chapter to maintain my continuing education in the research field. It is a great opportunity for networking in our local area which is robust with research institutions. I believe it would be a very poor decision to lose this chapter. I feel the current board will be able to overcome whatever challenges have recently occurred and can carry on the high standards of our chapter.

While I have not been an RTP member for more than a couple of years, I have experience starting an ACRP chapter and know that a chapter needs member support to continue. This chapter has been able to provide educational opportunities that many would not be able to attend if provided elsewhere. I support the RTP chapter.

The RTP chapter should not be dissolved. A local chapter is a great way for some to get into this field by networking, staying current on topics and finding a career path by talking to those in the field. We all agree we need more study coordinators and monitors. The RTP chapter must stay.

That being said, the ACRP RTP Chapter was instrumental in my getting into the clinical research industry. This Chapter is very important to the clinical industry in this area.

Why did the officials resign on the same day? A more clear information on state of affairs will be helpful. I have not always been able to attend chapter meetings because I travel most times but the first chapter meeting I attended was Yesterday May 7 and it happened to be a combined meeting with SOCRA. I am confused as to why there are even 2 certifying body for this profession, that is by the way. The national body should not be focused on dissolving a local chapter but rather they should encourage and provide support to the local chapter. I stand in support of the existence of RTP local chapter.

This Chapter was recently considered Chapter of the Year by our Association. It has members that are triple certified, have been certified for over 20 years, and members that are part of the ACRP Fellows Program. We serve as a beacon to other chapters throughout the organization. As a former Global Lead Chair and Board of Trustees Volunteer for ACRP, I feel that the professional development opportunities provided by ACRP-RTP have been unrivaled elsewhere. I have trust and confidence in the current Chapter Board, as they have all proven themselves trustworthy through years of service. I'm sorry to hear that things did not work out for the prior Board that was elected, but I'm confident that our Chapter can move forward successfully under new leadership, if permitted by ACRP.

The RTP chapter is very important. It would be helpful to understand the current situation a bit more. While I don't attend monthly meeting regularly, the Fall conference last year was educational and well ran.
