Action Needed for the Survival of the Canadian North & Mining Sector

Our Governments support is key to the future of this industry and will provide job in the short term.

The industry is under severe pressure and needs temporary relief regarding the time constraints for deploying FT funds raised in 2019 and 2020.

Extending to 2021 is a sound request. Otherwise avoiding penalties will mean a lot of "panic spending" is likely going to be needed rather than doing "what needs to be done".

These are recommendations easy to implement. This is the perfect storm for the industry and northern communities will feel it badly. Help is necessary.

During these unique times due to the disruption of Covid-19, please seriously consider extending the time horizons.

Seems like a logical request which will aid in upholding the exploration company - investor relationships and maintain job security for exploration based employees when operations are deemed safe to continue.

I would also expand the criteria for flow-through expenditure so that the following are included: Environmental work; Resources and reserves; Engineering; EA’s and permitting support activities; administrative work supporting work on properties.

Historically, the resource sector has probably contributed more to the development and sustenance of Canada's north than any other industry. Shouldn’t it then be considered essential and supported as such? Or is there some other economic juggernaut on the horizon that can easily replace it? Silence……

Federal Assistance is crucial if Operating Mines, Exploration Companies, and Subcontractors are going to survive this pandemic!

These would be minimum. Like the 80's, I would push for an METC at 50%.

We very much need help, and have not seen any yet by Canada.

Any fair minded politician should see the logic in the CEE time horizon extension request at such a difficult time in our industry.

These requests make sound economic sense and will be of practical assistance to northern communities.

Mining is part of the fabric of our northern communities - indigenous communities are building capacity through economic benefits derived from mining. It starts at exploration.

This is very important to the near-term welfare of the mining exploration industry. It is critical that the appropriate measures be implemented

This is not an industry anyone can afford to lose.
