Keep the North employed. Exploration is R&D. We need an economy that can’t be moved to the lowest bidder like Tech and Manufacturing jobs are. Mines don’t move when the tax and subsidies run out like tech and manufacturing do.

We need the government(s) to step up and help out on this issue. These are unprecedented times. Thanks.

Canada's economic recovery depends heavily on our natural resources and the thousands of ancillary jobs explorers and resource companies provide in the north and elsewhere.

These are exception times worldwide. This simple change will help keep many employed in an industry that, when successful, benefits all Canadians.

Exploration spending and mining contribute REAL dollars to the Canadian economy. Not only do our northern communities survive and thrive on exploration and mining - the tax revenues generated from production of gold, base metals and industrial minerals fill all government coffers - municipal, provincial and federal. Helping the Canadian exploration and mining industries helps all Canadians.

Preserving investment in the economy is critical to the future of Canada

I would go a few steps further. 1. Exploration companies should be eligible for the wage subsidies for those who continue to employ their employees seeing that almost none of us have revenues. 2. I think all care and maintenance costs between March 15 and until normal operations resume should reduce flow through obligations. This would allow us to keep employing office staff and management and save them from collecting EI. Companies have budgeted hard dollars to last the year for which we are required to make these expenditures. If we are given another year to spend exploration $'s we have now got to go fund head office costs for another year. In this market that is almost impossible. I f these costs count as flow-through it would help keep a lot of these Companies a float.

With so many restrictions on movement in place, it only makes sense to extend the timeline over which companies are able to spend flow-through funds. It's a simple change that would sustain the integrity of this important financing mechanism for juniors, protecting people, communities, investors and companies.

I fully support this petition. Without an extension death lurks for the juniors.

We want to go back to work and spend exploration dollars in a socially and environmentally way. It would really help if these temporary changes to flow-through share rules can be implemented. That way the money can be spent efficiently, when the Covid-19 crisis is behind us, and rural and remote communities are ready for the work to restart.
