I have read and benefited from many articles published on Acta Cytologica in my work in the cytology laboratory. I believe Acta Cytologica is beneficial to Cytologist and definitely worthy of having an impact factor.

Cytotechnologists, Cytopathologists are specialists, belonging to a small, but extremly important part of the medical world and should not be penalised by a simple arbitrary number that will destroy the link to the rest of the medical world. This is a shocking event, creating a serious precedent, when privately owned companies have the right to "kill" the voice of an important professional channels favouring less scientific (aka open-access scavenger) journals with high publicity budgets...
And rest assured, the blocking of the IF will kill the journal as no academic will be allowed to publish high quality papers anymore (without harming their carreer...)

It is absolutely essential to restore the IF to Acta. This highly reputable journal has reached its 60-year Anniversary in 2017, and for decades it was the ONLY journal in the field of cytology. All pioneering reseach in the field has been published in Acta, which is an essential reading for all cytologists, cytopathologists and those working in the related fields. Decision to cancel IF of Acta was completely arbitrary and not based on critical evaluation of the journal and its ranking. KS

Acta Cytologica is one of the go-to journals in cytopathology; a source of quality work on wide ranging aspects of cytopathology. Many high quality publications cite Acta articles among the references (eg. Cancer Cytopathology article- http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/cncy.21724/epdf). It would be a real loss to the scientific community if the impact factor were not reinstated.
