Acta Cytologia is the official journal of International Academy of Cytology. Although cytology is now not a hot research field or topic, it is still an effective tool in clinical medicine and does a lot for human health. To encourage those who dedicate their works in this field, this journal should be back in the list of SCIs.

I have relied on this journal since the late 1980's to keep me informed on developments in diagnostic cytology. Maybe we should allow free access to archived issues, like other journals have done.

I would suggest that "impact factor " ratings by that company or any other are highly over-rated. I have never really paid much attention to that at all throughout my career. I would suggest that the impact of a particular paper and it's scientific integrity would be considered, and not the "rating" of any overall journal by any self-appointed rating company. I have seen high quality scientific papers with impeccable scientific methods applied, rejected from so called "high impact journals" due to purely political reasons. I would suggest that Acta Cytological rest on the scientific merits of it's published articles, the high integrity of its editors, and forget about the silly stuff that does not, in the end, matter. Each author who publishes a high quality research paper should be gratified to see who is using their work to further their scientific endeavors (i.e. legacy). Who needs that "impact factor rating company?
