The Ministry confirmed today that they have approved the signage request for the Belleville store. I am currently coordinating with their transit department to confirm the specific installation sites on the highway. We will monitor the progress of these installations to ensure the commitment is fully realized.

The government of Ontario should designate the last remaining Sam the Record Man store in Belleville Ontario as a tourist attraction, and provide tourism signage. Sam the Record Man has played an integral role in the development of Canadian music talent since 1937, by promoting and selling Canadian artists on consignment; a tradition that continues in Belleville to this day. Millions of Canadians from coast-to-coast cherish their memories of hours spent in Sam's stores, discovering music. Eleanor McMahon, Ontario Minister of Tourism Culture and Sport, oversees the program that has denied the last Sam the Record Man's request for tourism signage on Ontario highways. We need your help to convince the Minister to overturn the their decision, and provide tourism signage for the last Sam the Record Man!

This is the last Sam store around . It should be a tourist designated store as mostly only the local people know it exists. A lot of people miss Sam's and would be glad to know there is still one left. A huge amount of tourists come to the Quinte area and would stop in if they knew it was here.
Designate it!! This Sam's was my first Introduction to music. I remember buying CASSETTES in there!! I've moved almost 4 hours away, and I STILL drive the FOUR HOURS, just to purchase actual CD's!!
Sam's is iconic and should definitely be recognized as a tourist attraction. My eleven and fourteen year old absolutely LOVE listening to music on vinyl and we always stop in when we are at the Quinte Mall.
This is a great idea as Sam The Record Man was truly a significant piece of "Canadiana". When you think of successful franchise businesses in Canada like Tim Hortons for example, Sam The Record Man is in the exact same wheelhouse. - Just my two cents.
The sign should be on the Highway...all that Sam's brought to Ontario for many years...The last store needs to be honored. There are Farmers Market signs and they are only open 2 days a week....Not Fair

Dear Prov of ON .. let's do something for Canadian music and Canadian history. A music chain that was known world wide by musicians and music lovers. Save it, recognize it!

One of the highlights of visiting Belleville and Prince Edward County for me, is always a visit to the last remaining SAMs store. Like the once great music chain, this business has a deep inventory, which I am sure would be the envy of many big city record stores. Put up the sign!
