The latest auditor general's report proves disrespect for the people once again.
Please sign this non-partisan petition and let the government, and all future leaders, know we are watching and are furious at the lack of accountability.
Most recently our Auditor General raised some serious concerns around the purchase of new fighter jets. The long and the short of it is that our govt misled the people; "The report also shows that DND estimated the total cost of the F-35 program at $25 billion over 20 years when the decision was made internally to go forward with it in 2010. But in 2011, when DND responded to a report by parliamentary budget officer Kevin Page, officials said the cost would only be $14.7 billion." But for the Auditor General's review we the tax payers would have been stuck with nearly a $10 billion over run! That's roughly $29 for each living Canadian....
Any company that made a mistake (and/or misled) its shareholders would fire the CEO and replace the board of directors. We need to let our govt know that they are responsible to us and that we will not tolerate this type of malfeasance. Fed up with these people lying to us about where our hard earned money goes. they think they can just hide the numbers and we wont notice. fix this mess now!
