The breakwater is unique. It is a grade II listed structure and as far as I am concerned it should be a World Heritage site which would open it for grant aid from all kinds of sources. The breakwater has deteriorated 'year on year'. Loss of the rock mound has resulted in increased wave forces reaching the superstructure which in turn has resulted in an increasing numbers of significant defects to the outer face of the breakwater as well as acceleration of the erosion of the rubble mound.
Public access to the Breakwater should be maintained and encouraged, It has been widely used for many years by locals and tourist alike. It should be made a Heritage selling point in our Town and used accordingly, the removal of any obstacles on entry is not only a safety issue, in respect of the recent tragedy were the emergency services could not reach a Man who was on the Breakwater fishing with his young son. Lives will be lost if Stena continues to restrict access. Another issue of denial by a Company that says the site is private property and that people are not allowed on it. Yet to my knowledge many people still Fish here on a regular basis, ride bikes and walk this structure, people need to ask what about them? Or do they not matter.

The breakwater is enjoyed by people from the whole country I often as a child met people who had come from fdifferent parts of the country to fish there closing it only puts another nail in Holyhead as a place to visit

for safety reasons, vehicles shpuld be allowed on the breakwater, however, people fishing should take their rubbish home with them !

I have fished, walked and ran on the Breakwater for many years. I would like it to be open for ever.

I used to run the breakwater regularly in my fitter days, it would be a crying shame if they close it.
