I have been in the automotive parts and service for over 45 years the abuse of state inspections is rampant more citizens need to complain State inspections are used to rip off the consumer. I was a service manager at a Ford dealership their is no need to that advantage of customers just explain what repairs are needed and why safety sells itself.

Nothing more than a money grab for the state and a license to steal by unscrupulous "inspectors".

From experience, I feel women get taken advantage of. Plus, most inspectors feel it's a waste of time; considering, people go elsewhere for repairs.

waste of money. If the car doesn’t run it doesn’t run. Of it runs, it runs why should the state care about our cares if they are road worthy. We are f****** adults and we can take care of our own cars. This states sucks. It’s turning into CA

Shops really do use inspections to make money, they tried to get me. Car failed for windshield wipers, they wanted 40 dollors told them no, put em on myself. When I went back with in 15 days my door handle didnt work, fix that, went back 3 more times something diffrent wrong everytime , cost me 458 dollors to pass inspection. It's a con job and very unnecessary

Hardly any reputable shops do inspections anymore. An honest shop makes their money doing reas l repairs as nd most inspection stations take advantage of women

Absolutely, a motive for creating hysteria and financial panic. Toyota for example insisted, at the time of inspection, that would cost $5.000.00. A private mechanic made all the corrections in 3 days, parts n labor for under $700.00. Another service station, insisted they were being watched, n failed me for a head light, they had adjusted at the previous years inspection.
