We, the world populace, hereby address the Secretary General of the United Nations, Mr. Ban Ki-moon to use his influence to achieve greater deciveness of the UN Security Council. Moreover, we urgently call upon the World Leaders gathered in the UNSC, to reform their methods of decision making and to abolish veto power for the G-5 to start with. Utterly in concern of so many bloody conflicts in several parts of the world, among them Syria, Afghanistan, Somalia and Nigeria, the citizens of this unique planet that we call Earth press upon our leaders to establish the swift and effective means to guarantee peace and avoid civil bloodshed, refugee cataclysms and the destruction of the future of our children. Even more, we are of the opinion that the arising of influence zones in which the real conflicts between the Great Powers are fought out, will have to stop. To achieve all this, we deem it most necessary that decisions in the UNSC cannot be blocked by some super powers still wielding their "victor's rights" 70+ years after World War II. It is not enough to abstain from an explicit 'NO', as so-called "hidden vetoes" often achieve the same effect without other countries being able to counter them. Many great leaders and fighters for humanity have expressed themselves in the same vein. Again, therefore, we ask Mr. Ban Ki-moon to urge the Great Powers to voluntarily refrain from their exclusive instrument and side with all other UN Members on the point of decision making in the Security Council. Say No to Veto Power in the UNSC!
