It’s absurd that this has not been stopped.

First reason The California High-Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA) has missed several deadlines for critical project milestones, including the procurement of rolling stock and the electrification of the Merced-to-Bakersfield segment. Second reason The project is currently $7 billion short of its budget, with no credible plan to secure additional funds. Third reason CHSRA relies on volatile non-federal funding sources, which present significant project risk. Fourth reason The authority lacks a viable path to complete the electrification of the Merced-to-Bakersfield segment by the end of 2033. Fifth and final reason The budget contingency is inadequate to cover anticipated contractor delay claims. These factors have led to the decision to revoke federal funding for the project, which was initially approved by California voters in 2008. The project's future remains uncertain, with ongoing discussions about its viability and potential for completion.

Feinstein's HUSBAND is one of the main contractors of this boondoggle. We have been hoodwinked in CA. They said it would cost 33 Billion $$ total. Now they say it is 75 Billion $$ and they totally rerouted the track, moving it from following the I-5 corridor to smack through the Central Valley, where we GROW the food for the world! Stop this farce. There is no funding for the project, making it illegal in CA. Projects are supposed to be funded!!!!

This project will compromise California’s agricultural prowess. Use the money to improve already in place road system and create drought solutions. Instead of gobbling up land near the track to sell at higher prices.

Use the money to fix the roads instead of building a locomotive train in 2020

I've lived in Ca over 60 years without a train ride, not one day without water.

I think the bullet train should be abolished because the cost is so astronomical and ridiculous for Calif. to put out the billions of dollars that the state doesn't even have. The funding for this project can and should be used for practical issues.

This is nothing but a boondoggle meant to benefit Gov Brown and his cronies who put him in office. I demand you stop cheating the American people.

we don't need a train when there is budget cuts in our services area .. Put the money towards restoring .. Our freeways and structures .. Dams .. Ect.. Cut government waste .. Slash there salaries .. Until there is a solution to our water issues.and other issues..
