Devon council are a disgrace approving this closure and then not monitoring that any work is actually being done - shame on you all at highways

Awful delays and congestion with school drop off and pick up. Terribly thought out closure.

Whilst we can all understand that infrastructure works are needed for housing projects, the amount of time allocated for these works, and the lack of consideration for local residents, is shocking. The developers should have been given a maximum 4 week window to complete this, with significant financial penalties for overrunning. As it is, it is we the existing residents that are paying these financial penalties so that the developers can maximise their profits.

I genuinely can’t afford the taxi bill to go around the road closure It’s a massive problem given the length of time it’s shut for is it really necessary ? Probably not. I generally used to visit the thatch twice a week and now I don’t. Shame really

This closure is having a major impact on my daily commute and causing delays and increasing danger to road users and pedestrians via the diversion route.

Once again the needs of local residents totally ignored via poor planning and project management.

This road is used regularly by school traffic to Bideford College and workers going to work.It should not be completely closed.

It’s a joke! I live on collage park and my son attends a school which is 5 minutes away, now we have to go all the way around through narrow roads to get to school which takes an extra half an hour. The same with Barnstaple again traffic is horrendous and squeezing through tiny spaces isn’t ok.

Closure is disrupting my business, and signage is making it difficult to find how to access us. So many local diversions in place that no one can follow the correct route around.

Moreton Park Road cannot cope now with all of the extra traffic. The road surface is terrible and will be made worse the longer this goes on. What are they doing that takes so long anyway?

There has been total poor management of these works. Totally inefficient. The longer it takes, the more money there is to be made!! It's unbelievable how the Powers That Be think how insignificant local people are! *'Hiding' ads at the back of a newspaper that not everybody reads; *Providing a helpline number whose prefix code was deemed not suitable for public use back in 2014, due to its high cost; *Causing major distribution to peoples' lives, costing them extra time on their journeys, *Extra fuel costs (the only way to access parts of Bideford and Abbotsham is via the appalling Moreton Park Road, which had totally been neglected and has already caused damage to several vehicles). For those who need to access Abbotsham Primary School and Kenwith Castle Care Home, it is causing massive distress , expense and upheaval. The project is already behind schedule. It's a complete nightmare for local residents!! 1) we should have been given more notice 2) we should have been told WHY the works is going to take so long 3) compensation should be paid to those who have incurred greater expense on necessary journeys 4) compensation should be given to those whose cars have been damaged by having to use Moreton Park Road 5) Moreton Park Road should have been repaired BEFORE all the extra traffic was forced to use it. 6) WHY is it already behind schedule??!! Often, VERY OFTEN, we see very little activity going on at the site. An utter disgrace. Don't tell me there aren't people making real money out of this to the detriment of ordinary lical men, women and children!! This could have, and should have been handled more openly, more efficiently and on a lower budget.

It’s time these road closures were looked into before granting permission. ! Rediculous
