Dear Madina S.A,
Asalaamu'alaikum,
It has come to the attention of the Madina Students that Sidi Abass Darab no longer has scheduled time within the teaching week. We understand that this may be due to valid reasons unknown to the students. However, we find his lessons invaluable and we would like to request that he be given back some teaching time.
Since the beginning of the year Sidi Abass has been exerting his best efforts for the benefit of the students in class time and out of class time. His contribution has not been unappreciated nor was it lost on the results of the students.
While it appears that Abass only teaches Arabic, he has placed purpose into the Arabic by constantly instilling the love for the language in the students. Sidi Abass approaches the subject in a unique way from our other Shayeukh.
Sidi Abass has became the glue to our learning of the Arabic language. He is the bridge between nahw and sarf, without him majority of us wouldn't have excelled as we did. To remove such an asset from the students at this time in the year would be extremely detrimental to the growth of the students of madina. He is certainly someone all of us rely on immensely.
Sidi Abbas has contributed so much time and effort out of madina class hours for the sake of our academic success and our spiritual upliftment. In fact, many of us feel that the progress we make especially during exam time is due to his immense aid.
Another major aspect about sidi Abbas is the illumination side of madina that he serves to us. His classes do not only compromise intellect, they shift us into a realm of spirituality that we greatly appreciate and need for the rest of this year, (and maybe even for the future madina s.a students).
As a class we have no committee such as an SRC in which we can use the appropriate channels for such a request, therefore we've gathered signatures that agree with the views of this letter to express the overwhelming need for Sidi Abass. If the students have any say in the future of our studies we would like this to be considered.
Madina S.A needs Sidi Abbas.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have reached out with their own stories about Sidi Abbas. All I did was start a page but you are the ones making this real by showing just how much his presence matters to our studies.

All that i understand of arabic is mainly because of his help outside of school hours. Thank you sidi Abass!
A "petition" will never do justice for what Sidi Abbas has done for us. Alahamdulillah, he's always willing to go the extra mile, so this is the least we can do. He's always motivating us mentally and spiritually. And what good is a student when their heart and mind aren't in sync? I hope this petition is nothing but khayr "Change the world one student at a time" Thank you Sidi! And Allah SWT knows best.
His classes are truly inspiration
He's helped me so much, And because of him ive gotten over so many shackles alhamdulillah. I really need sidi Abass's assistance.
Really a remarkable young man. Abbas Darab, if he wishes, should be granted more time at our institute. He provides a resource that our teachers can not provide.

I personally believe that sidi Abbas plays a important role in our class at Madina, not just in Madina, but he makes time to teach and he sacrifices many things just to cross over the knowledge which he wants to share with us. To me personally i would be weaker then i am now with Arabic,as an example as to how he has helped me with the understanding of it. With this, he can make it easy upon many who struggle.. When he connects his soul with my soul, he touches others as well... This is how knowledge comes accross, and he does it excellently... Alhamdulilah
