As of Jan 2019, there were 8,575 homeless people in Michigan. In Detroit alone, there are 380,719 vacant abandoned homes that the government and city don't use. I believe that in order to help the homeless especially in the brutal Michigan weather, we must petition to have them available to the homeless. There are many homeless out there that need a place to stay to get their life together and start over. If we keep turning our heads, one day someone will turn their head on you.
