There was a horrific case at Landfall Island in the Andaman and Nicobar atoll of India on 11 February 1998. It includes killing of the six innocent Burmese national leaders (Arakanese and Karen nationals from Burma) and illegal detention of their 34 followers by the Indian government. They belong to the National United Party of Arakan (NUPA) and Karen National Union (KNU), ethnic nationalities organizations from Burma that have been fighting against the military regime for decades for self-determination and human rights. Seeing this groundswell of support brings me back to the moment I first learned about the massacre at Landfall Island. The silence surrounding these deaths has been crushing for far too long. Your dedication to seeking justice for these leaders proves that we will not let their memory fade into history.

My father spent his life fighting for the dreams of these men and the loss of those six leaders still haunts our movement. We are nearing a hundred signatures but we need a final push to force the world to recognize this injustice. Please get this link in front of someone new today so we can keep the memory of their sacrifice alive.

This is completely wrong. What happened on that island was a massacre and the truth needs to come out finally.

Justice for the families of those men! How can a government just get away with killing people like that?
