Extend the Term of Andre Marin, Ontario's Ombudsman for another 5 years.
Andre Marin was appointed to the office of the Ontario Ombudsman in April 2005 for a term of 5 years.
The Ombudsman act states that the term can be extended. We want to see him in this role from April 2010 to April 2015. Andre Marin and his office have helped those that were ripped off by Lottery insiders, Property tax payers, Children's aid and some hospitals.
People come away with the thought of being beat down and defeated when trying to resolve a problem with the Government or Agency, the Ombudsman is citizens last resort for fairness.
We need Andre Marin in his role for another term so he can deliver on his mandate. He really is there for "We" the "Citizens"

Accountability in Ontario will suffer without the energy be brought to the role.
He is accused of being a grandstander, but you know what-- it is needed to bring attention to the issues that he involves himself in. Nothing will be solved if you just sit and wait for a problem to come to you. He roots it out and educates the public in the process.

The reports that Andre might not be reappointed are deeply concerning because he is the only person fighting for the people who fall through the cracks. I am reading your stories about how his office helped you and it proves exactly why we cannot afford to lose this level of accountability.

Seeing this level of support confirms that so many of you feel the same deep frustration with how our government treats regular citizens. It feels like we are finally building enough momentum to show that our need for a real watchdog cannot be ignored.

He actually holds people accountable. We need him to keep doing what he does because nobody else is standing up for us.
Total nonsense if they replace him. He did so much for lotto victims.
Ontario government is a mess and he is the only one cleaning it up. five more years is a no brainer.
DONT LET HIM GO. This man is the only one who cares about the regular person in this province.
finally someone who listens to the little guy. please keep him in the office.

Whatever they say about grandstanding he gets results. Keep him on.
