The fact they are putting cars into one lane prior to the Conwy tunnel is not helping the problem. This needs to be addressed ASAP

I attended a bike accident in llandudno at the weekend and due to the chaos that is currently swamping the A55 we waited 30mins in the rain for an ambulance. Had this been a serious accident it could have been a very different outcome. How many fatalities are there going to be while emergency vehicles are stuck in miles of traffic?!

Not only have these roadworks affected the A55 but they have made Llandudno Junction an absolute nightmare, just sheer congestion. I was trying to get to the chemist before they closed, in the end I went up a side road, turned round and went home. Peak times should be left for tired commuters to get home. They would not put up with this in Cardiff.

About as well planned as the bridge near North Wales golf club. Bridge or stair way to heaven with the time and money spent there..

My usual 40 minute commute has turned anywhere between 1:30 hours and 2+ hours. My job security is suffering because of this, especially if it becomes long term.

if the work needs to be done I can accept that, but the authorities should consult with the people of of Pen, Dwygy and Conwy (at least) about how best to manage the traffic and minimise impact on us. 300% increase in travel to work/ childcare journey time for 9 weeks is unmanageable. Villages are dangerous.

They are constantly faffing about with the A55! This adds 30 minutes to my commute to and from work. The traffic control is an absolute joke. Do these people not understand how frustrating it is! Miles of cones.........and then you see it....one wheelbarrow X

PLEASE READ: Not sure this helps and no doubt it doesn't but this is what's going on!
The works will improve the level of safety and resilience of the Penmaenbach tunnel in accordance with EU legislation and the Road Tunnel Safety Regulations. RTSR’s primary objective is the prevention of critical events in road tunnels that endanger human life, the environment and tunnel installations. The installation of a new tunnel lighting system will therefore improve the overall resilience of the tunnel systems; and provide a lighting system that meets the requirements of EU and UK legislation, and also reduce operating and maintenance costs through the use of the latest LED lighting technology.
Benefits
The benefits associated with the delivery of the tunnel lighting system, resurfacing and the replacement of street lighting columns are expected to deliver as follows:
Tunnel lighting:
- Fully compliant lighting installation for 70mph traffic
- Lower power usage and reduced carbon footprint
- Lighting that is suitable for all operational regimes
- Reduced maintenance burden and costs, better future spares availability
Street lighting:
- Improved detection of tunnel area incidents through the use of improved street lighting
- Improved asset availability and a reduction in night time Personal Injury Accidents
Resurfacing works:
- Prolong the life of the carriageway
- Reduce the need for maintenance
- Provide increased safety/skid resistance
- Improve ride quality by eliminating surfacing patches
As proven during the recent lighting installation within both bores of the Conwy tunnel and the Pen y Clip tunnel, the new LED lighting will provide a better distribution of light and ensure the road user has an improved experience of using the tunnel.
The fact they are putting cars into one lane prior to the Conwy tunnel is not helping the problem. This needs to be addressed ASAP
