Traffic comes up to these way too fast, there's no indication of the road directions in advance and I've watched several accidents in the making as people race to go past slower ones, try to turn when they've only just seen where they should be positioned on the road in order to turn, and try to beat the lights.

I have thought for some time that it is a dangerous junction. It would be good to see it made safer so drivers don't feel tempted to race to overtake, I t puts me off using that road, I go a different way to Chippenham to avoid it.

The road is not the problem here it's the idiots that choose to use it like a racetrack. 9 out of 10 people know exactly how this road works yet persist on driving on it like they haven't a clue. I drive this road everyday and everyday there's another dick head. The road should be changed as there is really no need for an overtaking lane anyway as during busy periods it is one long continuous line of traffic to Chippenham anyway so nobody really gets anywhere faster. What really grates me here is when there is a long line of traffic approaching the lights on green and you can see this quite clearly and you still get them flying passed you even though there is clearly nowhere for them to go and still achieve nothing except overtaking a couple and being stuck behind another 20. So yes i agree change the road but it is only made dangerous by dangerous drivers and if they were to all wind their necks in, step down a peg or two and chill out I'm sure everybody would be fine.

something really needs to be changed on this road before another death happens, I travel this road very often and also had near misses, where other drivers has to be in front of you its the innocent that gets hurt just because of other drivers stupidity

The current road markings encourage dangerous driving, too much of risk to take for the sake of getting one car ahead in the queue. Wiltshire council please prioritise safety over congestion in your plans for roadworks this year.

I travel this road many times a week and often witness near misses at this junction due to the layout of the road. We need to amend the lanes to left turn and straight ahead only and remove the merge in option.
