Change Road Markings at A350 Lacock Crossroads

I witnessed an almost identical collision on the a350 involving a van turning right and a car travelling towards melksham colliding with the van, fortunately no one died but it could have been much worse and was at high speed, this was 3 or so months ago, the road needs to be safer!

We live on corsham road and frequently walk into the village. I cannot see how any sane person cannot see that there is a major problem here as cars are desperate to use a tiny space for overtaking. We always knew that it would take the cost of life to make the necessary changes to control traffic. So very sad and totally unnecessary. I hope the planning people recognise their responsibility. Something desperately needs to be done about this stretch of road. I've witnessed far too many near misses at this junction, it's terrifying.

The junction will become even more dangerous if planning permission is given to Whitehall Garden Centre to double its retail space which will result in a significant increase in traffic turning off and on the A350 at this junction

This is exactly what I said to the Chief Highways Officer 5 years ago. He relied entirely on the computer modelling program to make his decision to do nothing.

Had to avoid a guy this morning who was much too important to wait his turn and filter in correctly. Simply get the layout changed to avoid any further confusion and accidents.

Nightmare of a junction. Not only should road markings change but the double sets of traffic lights should be more staggered to prevent cars speeding through in the outer lane. I have witnessed many near misses.

A fatality yearly, and Philip Whitehead does "Not think there are any problems with it" ?

Also had many near misses, the latest this morning when I was forced to pull over to the verge by an overtaking SSE transit.

Something needs to be done, I've had a few near misses with cars speeding in the right hand lane then them having to break as they approach the single lane, and cut other drivers up. ( Both directions ).

Due to the dangers of this junction, I have always detoured through the lanes to avoid it. It has been a danger ever since it was installed and people have asked for it to be changed on many occasions?

There is also a problem with Chippenham bound traffic turning right. A filter light system or even the whole junction turned into a roundabout are possible improvements

WC - A bit of common sense in warning drivers can save lives
