Granted the junction may seem fine, but if you are given the opportunity to overtake a slow moving vehicle, you will. It is the responsibility of Wiltshire council to remove the temptation and therefore make the road safer for all.

My friend, who was an expert driver and BMW enthusiast was the latest fatality at this blackspot. If it can happen to him, no-one is safe until this junction is altered.

Make the junction safer. Remove the temptation for people to drive recklessly and endanger themselves and others.

I drive this way every day for work and it's always a nightmare, I see so many bumps, scrapes and near misses so something needs to be done!

This junction was badly planned when the traffic lights were originally introduced. Nowadays with increased amounts of traffic it is downright lethal, as is proved by the recent sad deaths.

yes i strongly agree that the lights need to changed at the whitehall lights. its the inside lane were cars are turning right for the village or the garden center then idiot over take at stupid speed and then accidents happen. we never had this problem when it was just a single turn option,,

Re-mark traffic lanes in both directions making the left hand lane left turn only. If this was combined with adding extra light signals it MAY stop some drivers 'jumping the lights'.

I've been using this junction daily for the last six months. I've lost count of the number of times I've had to take avoiding action to prevent a collision.

Hi Lisa, I live there too :-) I haven't lobbied with the parish council, however I've contacted Melksham News & Wiltshire Times, and the Bath Chronicle, Western Daily Press and BBC Radio Wilts also covered it for us.

I too live on the Corsham Road estate. It might be worth lobbying the Parish Council and contacting the press about the petition.

Improvements need to be made. If there was "Nothing wrong with it" as Phillip Whitehead thinks, why has a gentleman just passed away in a serious accident on Monday morning at that junction?? What a disgraceful comment to make.

This should be stopped and no more lives lost
