I use this junction on a regular basis and believe the new proposed road layout , would cut down on the number of people racing at the junction I have been in the left hand lane and have had to slam on my brakes because a car was trying to force there way through and if I had not slowed they would have had to go into oncoming traffic . I dislike going to Chippenham on the A350 as I feel Iam risking my life every time at this junction due to people thinking they can race pass people and then force they way in when the road goes into a single lane there is a lot of bullying go on at this junction . Grandfather died on this road, it's about time someone did something to reduce the risk of crashes and fatalities.

These are issues that can be avoided by managing on a local level by local people. "Efficiency" isn't always about getting from year to year as cheaply as possible - lives aren't cheap and you're bargaining with them every day this road is left to cause accidents.

I have seen many near misses at this junction thanks to opportunists...a danger to themselves and others. For the safety of all, a little paint to change the road markings will go a long way to reduce future incidents. At present, the overtaking length of road is far too short with an abrupt merge on both sides. It's a simple fix!

A section of road which should be safe, except for those drivers who attempt to overtake unsafely, not giving consideration to either their own safety, or that of those around them. Therefore, the road must be changed to ensure everybody's safety.

Always careless drivers trying to get in front at light only to turn off a few yard later on. Seen so many near misses

It needs traffic light filters AND 'LEFT TURN / AHEAD ONLY' to help stop these accidents. Simple solution really and I don't understand why its taken so long.

Work is planned there for Whitehall Garden Centre so it seems an opportune time to carry out alterations to make the junction safer.

Wiltshire Council are a flipping disgrace. Absolute bureaucratic know all's who won't listen to the people they are paid to "serve". All we hear from them is that they are the " authority". No, in my opinion they are a grossly overpaid council providing a patronising and useless "service".

Current layout contributes to incidents & near misses every day. Why is this deemed acceptable? It has been going on for years & will only get worse.

Very dangerous junction, have seen many near misses here, why wait for another fatal accident before anything is done to make this stretch of road safer for everyone

I have used this junction for years and seen so many near misses. Drivers are lured by the road markings into thinking they have room to overtake then the road lanes quickly merge and they are left facing oncoming traffic in the middle of the road. As a local I know never to use the outside lane unless absolutely sure I can overtake quickly. Others may not have that knowledge. This needs to be changed before someone else is hurt or dies.
