Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

Banstead village and environs must be protected

Agree with your recommendations and reject a bypass going through Binstead.

We need to prioritise conserving our countryside and ensuring that rural life is supported.

What a shame it would be to slice away at such an attractive part of West Sussex, we have come to enjoy driving that route merely to enjoy the beauty of the landscape!

As well as despoiling the Arun Valley with raised road and bridge, a by-pass out of sight of Arundel could well isolate Arundel Town. It has been said that Billingshurst has suffered this way since it was by-passed. The woods are our lungs, we need them more and more.

Save our beautiful countryside

We must have a bypass at Arundel that avoids roundabouts and traffic lights. It will mean for less pollution as traffic will simply flow through instead of just sitting there for ages pumping out harmful exhaust fumes.

Countryside, community and environmental health are far more important than roads.

I can see no argument for devastating ancient woodland and the community of Binsted, when there is a more cost effective option,enhancing the current route.

I was born in Walberton and have many happy memories of roaming Binsted Woods as a child

Binsted must be protected - it would be vandalism to choose an option which would destroy this quiet, unspoiled fragment of our heritage.

This part of the countryside is relatively unspoilt and a road dissecting it will have a high negative impact on wildlife and will be or little worth without fast roads in Worthing and Chichester. Why not follow the cheapest and lest damaging option of widening the existing road?

Binsted is a beautiful village and should be protected at all costs, there are other options

For history and wildlife habitat value this is one of the most precious villages in Sussex. Hands off!

Totally the wrong root.

There has to be a more imaginative and far sighted design for this hideously busy route,such as tunnels and underpasses.

Spent £2m building a dream home and life in Binsted, don't destroy it.

A different by pass is a must.

Leave Binstead as unspoilt as it is

I worked at the Black Horse as a student, I walked in the ancient woodlands and paddled in the stream. I got married in the church - it's part of my heritage and of real old England. Please don't destroy such a special place. There must be another way to bypass Aundel ..
