Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

I am against route 5A because it would most damaging to our countryside

I object to 5A on the ground that it will damage the environment and is unsustainable and will cause more distress to the local community. The most obvious option is 3 as it will cause less impact and damaged and is sustainable.

I am just amazed that this could be allowed to even think about being done. Do they not realise that the road is only busy at rush hour from school times etc. I drive along this road daily around 6.30pm no traffic jams. I say no to our lovely woodland and ancient forest being taken away. It will be a road then housing with new roads being call woodland road what was. No no stop this happening.

No to 5A and the destruction to peoples' homes and lives for the sake of extra traffic!

Option 3 and 5a would be a disaster for our beautiful county. We cannot let outsiders come in and destroy it. Shame on you Highways England, Arun District Council, Arundel Council and our MP Nick Herbert. PLEASE DO NOT DESTROY OUR COUNTY AND PEOPLES LIVES.

This is not an option this is the desecration of all we hold dear in our society. These consultants are making money out of ill researched and utterly foolish proposals at the expense of ordinary people. Only the improvement of the current road and keeping the infrastructure intact will serve us and future generations. Government organisations need to listen to and include town planners, ecological groups and local bodies before putting forward outlandish plans in West Sussex. Grrrrrrrrr!

5A will have a serious impact on the traffic levels using Yapton Lane. It will become the main North-South route to and from the A27 for all between Littlehampton and Bognor Regis

A dreadful and unnecessary destruction of ancient irreplaceable woodland

Option 5a is not a good option as it will destroy national park land, village life in Binsted, local wildlife & flora. It will also alter and increase the traffic, noise and polution in and around Walberton. The idea of creating a new highway through a National Park is stupid when for around £100 million less the current route can be widened without the massive negative impact of new roads. Additionally even if the new bypass is created the traffic will be even more congested around the far greater problem areas of Chichester and Worthing.

These woodlands can never be replaced. Woodlands are needed to counter climate change.

Save Binsted no to option 5a I agree we need a better road, not a bigger more expensive

Wherever possible, we should treasure and conserve our natural environment. Binsted village and its landscape and wildlife deserve to be kept free from the high-impact change of Option 5A.

My nan grew up in Binstead and as a child we would walk through the fields to the church and pay respects to family past. Upon her request we sprinkled my nan's ashes in the Binstead woods so safeguarding Binstead isn't just protecting nature and the community but it's respecting my nans wishes to have a beautiful resting place whilst giving her living remaining family somewhere to go and remember. My nan would be spitting feathers at these proposals so in her memory Im fighting for Binstead.

Whilst I appreciate there needs to be improvements to the A27 in the area, there needs to be a less damaging way of doing it.

Please do not destroy our beautiful valley when other options are available.
