Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

The Binsted area including its woods is deserving of better treatment than the proposals that are being consulted on. Quality of life is important.

Save the woods. Make the existing roads better,

Why ruin more of the countryside. Why not make the existing road better?

I understand that the last attempt to use such a route as 5A was rejected, on environmental grounds, back in the 1990's. Why would it suddenly be acceptable? There is a much simpler(and cheaper) alternative which has been devised by local architect John Wheatley.

At the rate we are going there will be no country side left it will all be housing estates. We cannot let this happen.

No please do not build route 5a Plus Fontwell roundabout cannot take any more traffic it doesn't work to put more housing and cars in this area.

Option 5a will destroy so much of our rapidly diminishing quiet green spaces, when there are other cheaper and less damaging options. Whatever happens Chichester and Worthing are still the real bottlenecks. I am saddened that option 5a is being considered.

I strongly object to option 5a for the bypass. The damage it would cause to this lovely and tranquil woodland would destroy habitats of endangered species, in order to try and save a few minutes off of transit traffic time, which flows pretty well except for the twice a day rush hour, and will just get the traffic stream a little sooner to the next bottleneck down the road

I believe option 5a will cause unacceptable damage to essential wildlife habitat and irevocably devastate a beautiful area of outstanding rural countryside. Further, I think that option 1 would be the most sensible solution, as whatever option is chosen, it will simply shift the bottleneck further eastwards.

The ancient woodland at Binsted must not be destroyed. It is an extremely valuable wildlife habitat and a recreational area enjoyed by many people.. This proposed route would also fragment Binsted village, which is totally unacceptable.

All of the National Parks and rural areas need to be protected as once lost they will never be returned. The wildlife will be destroyed forever. Both this route (5a) and route 3 should be rejected and route 1 accepted as the only suitable one.

NOT OPTION 3 either - I'm not motivated only be selfish concern solely for a the sanctity of Binstead, as I don't live in one of its very nice houses. I simply value my Sussex wildlife, our landscape, and have a forlorn wish to rein in the carbon emissions of the sort of people who live in Binstead and the surrounding wealthy communities. (As well as all the oblivious psychos racing along the A27).

Option 5a would destroy a unique and precious landscape. I can't believe this could happen in a National Park!
