Does this government want the entire country covered in concrete?

This route would cause wanton and needless destruction. There are much better options, and Michael Gove should put his money where his mouth is.

More roads create more traffic. The road building ideology is defunct. Invest the money on transport that gets polluting cars off the road and improves our quality of life.

The locals know best what will work.

Let's hope that common sense prevails and the planners take another look at this.

Short-sighted, damaging and stupid. More roads create more traffic, more pollution, destroys wildlife. Just stop. Stop ruining the planet.

This proposal should be reviewed for less impact on virgin countryside in a National Park.

Lived in Tortington for 40 years but now moved. I don't think building more roads is the answer to road construction!

What a ridiculous idea, in this day and age we must be able to come up with a better solution that doesn’t lead to the destruction of woodland, ancient or otherwise, the destruction of natural habitats and wildlife.

No to Option 5A! The UK is 189th out of 215 countries when it comes to bio diversity ( The State of Report 2016 ). The report was complied from statistics provided by 53 organisations.

Slaughter the countryside? Travel faster into profiteering Armageddon. Choose better!

No bypass on this beautiful historic land! Appallingly ! We need countryside- not more horrible roads.

The consultation was biased. Spend that amount on option 1 with a dual carrigeway flyover, over the Ford Rd roundabout and you have halved the congestion. And provide new access side roads for the properties either side of the new road.

Option 1 looks best , there is already a single lane bypass , expand that by building a parallel two lane road .

We must preserve our wildlife first and for our kids futures. There are other options for the bypass so why not choose win-win?
