Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

In view of the seriously flawed consultation process, Highways England and the other appropriate statutory consultees should go back to the drawing board and come up with a proposal that does not do irreparable damage to this unique area.

I want to stop the wrecking of our natural environment. None of the other more effective, and more caring options for the town, townsfolk or the environment were properly considered at the hasty and worryingly “forced” conultation; maybe someone in charge of that consultation has another vested interest?

5A is too destructive. An Arundel bypass just moves queues further down the road.

I oppose this bypass and abhors the level of destruction Highways England are causing the English countryside in there quest to concrete over our green and pleasant land.

Option C is not an option.

I drive this route regularly and we should not be destroying the beauty of the countryside or woodland and trees for car drivers, especially when there are other options

As a, now selectively, independent nation who would like to remain at the forefront of progression and the developed / developing world, should we not continue to commit to our green credentials, carbon sinks and natural capital? Let's not get left behind in outdated thinking and keep working towards our targets.

It is vital that the destruction of the countryside and wildlife around Binsted and Walberton does not go ahead, when other alternatives are available.

The area of countryside due to be destroyed by these proposals is quite remarkable in its ecological value. That this should all be lost to save, at the most, eight minutes of travel time, is a sign of how disjointed our society has become from the needs and benefits of our natural world. In the light of the dire warnings of the recent IPCC report we should be reducing the need for road transport, not encouraging and facilitation it.

Road building on such beautiful countryside WRONG so people can cut minutes from a journey and ignore the devastation caused by their speed greed. MONE for building more roads NO

Why do HE persist on not listening to UK residents affected by their plans?!

it would be criminal to allow the bypass to go through this ancient woodland

Even the previous HE consolation showed only 2 minutes benefit of 5A over option 1. The new modified Option 1, with wide single carriageways answers all of the demands in relation to traffic flow, eradicating all of the pinch points, at a fraction of the cost. In addition having 50 mph speed limit from Crossbush to The White Swan, with a speed camera at each end would ensure smooth flow and therefore no delay, less risk of accidents and FAR less cost and destruction of the Arun Valley.

Why won't HE listen to the community. Why are we stuck in a 20th C roadbuilding mentality which will only force us further down the road to ruin.

We need more trees, more nature, more wildlife,there are far too many roads and too much traffic already, less roads less traffic, protect nature, trees and wildlife now

option 1 please.. the countryside needs to be left alone.
