Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

Please don't spoil ancient woodland, it's an essential part of history!

I broadly support the Option1 or Modified Purple Route, in either single or dual carriageway format, rather than the much more invasive wide diversion through open countryside to the south of Arundel. The savings over Option 5A ought to be invested in steps (eg E-facing chord at Arundel Junction from Arun Valley to Coastway line) towards a much better and more continuous strategic railway network along the whole South Coast.

This bypass is not needed. Let's protect our heritage and countryside.

Arundel has a bypass, if that hasn't cured the problem than another bypass will not be a solution either.

New roads only serve to increase traffic, not decrease it.

Reject Option 5A. Option 1 new purple route is the only route acceptable.

Save the countryside and what lives there!!

With only 2% of ancient woodland left in the country, Binstead Woods is invaluable not only for its biodiversity and services to humans and nature but for its , aesthetic, heritage and historical connections to the wider public. Its fragmentation will be devastating for everyone. It must be considered as worth saving a valuable asset like this in the face of dangerous changing climate.

Villages and surrounding countryside should be exempt from development. There is always a 2nd option taking into account the environment which is so precious

This road would unnecessarily destroy an area of natural beauty. There are much cheaper options which would have far less impact on the environment. With more and more houses being built in the area we should be protecting these invaluable areas, not only for ourselves but also for future generations.

We have been today for a lovely walk in the woods, crossing en route the line of the proposed road. Disgraceful proposal and a money better used elsewhere

there is far too much ancient forest gone already please leave this intact for future generations.

All in the cause of shaving 5 minutes off going to work ?

We need to preserve nature for the next generations, not continually erase and diminish it.

Any new road will be incredibly destructive for the environment. New roads just result in more traffic, so any forecast reduction in journey time never happens. Invest in public transport instead.

Proposed option 5A, ill considered, hence subject to substantial criticism of judicial review. Generally, unprofessional irresponsibility, as regards proper duties to our environment !
