Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

Please do not destroy the ancient woodland to improve a road. We need to improve public transport and get people off the roads. We are in a climate emergency!

Shameful, there is no justification to destroy this natural habitat should be unthinkable, it must be protected

Like with HS2 we must surely protect our fragile wildlife and ancient woodland in the UK. We are in a procarious situation globally and every piece of natural habitat must be seen as important to our future.

Insanely destructive proposal leading to no long-term or meaningful improvement. Instead, the loss of wonderful historic beauty and tranquility - a great source of health & well-being in this mad damaged world

Binstead is iconic, beautiful English countryside, a Heritage Asset in terms of ecology, cultural and historic values - it simply can't be sacrificed to save a Mere 8 Minutes driving time.

Have people not been reading the news, not only do we need to encourage people to drive LESS but we need to plant MILLIONS of TREES to save the planet!

I’m all for improving infrastructure where there is a clear need and a positive benefit outweighs not taking any action. This proposal doesn’t evidence need, and I can’t see any clear benefit. Nonsense

It is not worth destroying beautiful & historic sites to save 8 mins on a car journey.

Do not destroy this precious natural habitat. We need to be protecting our remaining woodlands and the creatures who live in them, not covering them in tarmac. The UK is supposed to be going carbon neutral by 2050, which is not soon enough but is the government’s stated aim. Building more roads will lead to more traffic and more emissions, not less and the destruction of precious and irreplaceable woodland habitats.

We need to protect our precious environment not destroy it!

more roads = more cars Improve public transport and enable active travel - segregated cycle paths and more space for pedestrians. Much cheaper and more beneficial for the environment and public health.

The South Downs National Park was not created in order to cover it with tarmac. Stop the Arundel bypass. The "do nothing" option is best

All this to save 8 minutes! Waste of public money and decimation of environment

Peak car and even more tarmac is not the answer... Non- powered dutch style Mobility is our solution if only motorists can get out of their boxes.

We need support in reducing traffic, not building bigger roads.

We cannot keep on ‘improving’ roads endlessly there’s not enough room. This is a small island and green spaces are vital for existence.

I don't know the exact details but one the face of it this project would seem to be utterly pointless, causing unnecessary environmental damage at a staggering financial cost.

The sweep of land running fro the Arun through Tortington and Binsted woods is of great wildlife value and the view from Ford towards Arundel castle and cathedral is truly spectacular. It is an act of irresponsible vandalism to destroy this. There are other solutions to traffic congestion on the A27.
