Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

At this time, we need to stop road expansion, stop ancient woodland culling, stop removing any more wildlife habitat. Why do this? There are better, greener alternatives and this present proposal cannot be justified.

There are less environmentally damaging options that bypass our already scarce and precious ancient woodland. Please consider these!

More roads is the antithesis of how to address our climate and extinction emergency.

Option 5A has huge, damaging, implications both environmentally and for the village of Binsted. Compared to the Option 1 alignment it also comes at great financial cost. Are we really considering such an option today, in the middle of a climate crisis, rather than looking at ways of enabling greater use of public transport and cycling/walking?

In the middle of a catastrophic climate emergency, we need to be focusing our energies on reducing traffic, not encouraging more. It's a proven fact that building more roads create more traffic - it's called induced demand and is a proven effect. Stop building roads. Stop decimating what is left our countryside and our valuable natural habitats. This government has blood all over it's hands.

The impact of this route through Binsted would be devastating on this important habitat for many species, many of who are protected and for which mitigation would be useless.

Please respect our fragile and precious environment and choose the least damaging option. Simply because a change is necessary does not mean it should not be considered in the broader sense, one that supports the environment and is not simply expedient

We don't need more roads or bigger or better roads. This will only encourage more cars and where will this end? We need cheap and efficient public transport. Have some regard for the wildlife and ecosystems are being decimated and for future generations.

What we really need are improvements to public transport that will enable people to drive less.

Although I use this stretch of the A27 quite often & know the hold ups, these dual carriageway options are too destructive to important Sussex countryside.

We need to preserve, not destroy. This would be an act of environmental vandalism.

Count my voice against the destruction of ancient woodland, veteran trees and wildlife habitats. We must improve cycling and walking routes and public transport.

This is a shameful proposal from highways England at the height of climate emergency. How exactly is building roads that pass these beautiful woods supposed to bring economic benefits when all they'll do is become a race track.

Time to prioritise woodland habitats over cars and pollution they bring with. There is no need for this bypass, but there is indeed for unambigous commitment to policies and actions to stop climate change and preserve and protect local species.
