Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

Heed Brexit and listen to the people on the ground. The Arundel A27 Forum has a valid suggestion and they know the area well.

As an owner of a small, idyllic, piece of Tortington Common I find it abhorrent that Nick Gibb and his associates seem to think it reasonable to brutally rape a beautiful part of our last remaining ancient woodland. The abundance of wildlife, floral and fauna that has been there since before 1600ad in one form or another will be lost forever. Surely anyone of reasonable mind must see that as we have so little woodland left and about only 1% of that is ancient, covering it in concrete for the sake of political expediency cannot be the way forward. I explore any and all of the sane people of this once green and pleasant land to do all they can to stop this happening.

This beautiful area will be lost forever. More bad planning!!! This is my home area and every time I come back there is evidence of even more dreadful development. Don't even get me started on Splash Point in Worthing!!!!!

A27 at Arundel definitely needs sorting out but not through one of our beautiful villages.

There are many alternatives to solve the problem other than driving an "expressway"through precious woodland and destroying a village.

NO to more assaults on our beautiful countryside.

I was so grateful that with the support of all country loves and just plan common sense the Northern bypass in Chichester was stopped. Here we go again.

Just upgrade existing by-pass - stop digging up the countryside

Historic important woodland. Vital to locals and tourists. Other options must be pursued, there are other less damaging measures which could be taken

Road building, especially on congested trunk roads, is well-understood to increase motor traffic in the area. More traffic is the last thing Arundel, or West Sussex, needs. The only solutions that will reduce motor traffic congestion are those that provide alternatives to motor vehicle use: a dramatically improved rail service, dramatically improved bus services, and safe, attractive cycleways. The first two options require ongoing subsidy with public money, the last needs little capital investment and very little ongoing maintenance. The A27 is perfectly good, most of the time. It only struggles at peak times: take a small percentage of the traffic away and all will be well again.

I very much support options that are not damaging or intrusive to our diminishing countryside.

A "motorway" zooming through this coastal region should be avoided at all costs.

There should also be an option with no new road building at all, only online improvements to reduce speed, impacts and danger

Please don't turn such a lovely place into a racetrack!

Better, cheap, effective public transport, not more roads. Madness going nowhere

We need to find more sustainable transport solutions instead of just building more roads. We need to protect our valuable countryside and villages because once they're gone it'll be too late.
