Stop the Arundel Bypass - Save Arundel's Countryside

Very over due.

The ecological importance of this area is valuable not least because of the fact that that such areas are rapidly declining south of the downs. The value of its inherent beauty and preservation of it the village lanes should be of the highest priority. This is an important site of ancient woodland, traditional farming, rural lanes, cottage economy and perhaps most importantly possessed of a spirit of place and poetic resonance that cannot be replicated. The 'feel' of Binsted is important and ancient.

Obviously if there are less damaging options to the contryside, these should be explored. I believe this bypass should be used as a trunk route for all heavy traffic removing it from all the small country roads and not be run through any sussex villages.

I grew up in Arundel and walk and cycle in Binsted to this day. It would be criminal to destroy this idyllic piece of English heritage.

The Arun Valley and surrounding woodlands need to be saved for our children. Binstead and its environs is mentioned in the Domesday Book.

I fully support the petition and the suggestion that all other possible routes should form part of the consultation process to avoid desecrating Binsted Village.

It would be sacrilege to destroy this place of peace and beauty to run a bypass through here. There are alternatives, use them!!!! It's time we protected what's left of our countryside and villages, wildlife too, NOT destroy it. I for one object to this and so should you !!!! Please !!!

Rustington and Littlehampton were separate now because of housing they are joined and have lost their individuality. Please leave Binstead with its character alone.

Please sort out this mess. With the trains unreliable and traffic so bad it is effecting my homelife

We most definitely need this By-Pass to reduce traffic congestion around Arundel and the A27

Once destroyed you cannot recreate. History is not a dead thing it lives through us. Let the future understand its past.

THE route is inappropiate as it is highly damaging tothe environment , and would result in an unacceptable reduction in public benefit

This would destroy the historic village of Binsted and Torrington. Other less damaging options should be considered.
