The planners of the intersection of SR92/Campbellton-Fairburn Rd and Ridge/Butner Rds probably didn't anticipate the speeding 16-wheeler trucks and the number of cars that would round the curve! It is a dangerous crossing. The flashing light has not prevented the many accidents and near-misses. The Arlington Christian School buses, parents and students who must cross 92 are fearful of the intersection. Community residents can tell you of neighbors who have lost their lives at this intersection and nearby--because of speeding traffic. The drivers of trucks and cars speeding up the curve don't have any warning about crossing traffic. We need the state GaDOT to use funds, already secured from the LeJardin developer, to remove the flashing lights and put up warning signs and a traffic light as a preventive measure. We know the area and the risks! We need a light NOW!
I keep staring at the screen because this momentum feels like a dam finally breaking and I honestly just had to step away from the monitor for a minute to process it. It says so much that so many of you know exactly the terror of that intersection curve and the constant worry about the trucks. We are finally getting somewhere with this push for the light.

A light is needed to cross and turn onto SR 92. I takes a long period of time trying to cross and turn do to heavy flow of speeding cars in the morning and the evening. Also there has been mulriple accidents with life threatening injuries. Please put up warnjng signs and traffic light to prevent further accidents and to allow safer crossings.

This is a major issue at the Hwy 92 & Ridge Rd intersection. I have witnessed several accidents over the last couple of years. My hopes is that GDOT will release existing funds from escrow and install the Traffic Light ASAP!

It is very difficult and dangerous making the left turn onto Hwy 92 each afternoon. There is much speeding and high volume making it a dangerous turn. I have seen many accidents and the damage caused to the surrounding property as well. A traffic light is definitely needed at this location.

Hwy 92 petition is long over due as the population demographics have changed dramatically over the last decade in Fairburn, GA from Population change since 2000: +150.6%. Pop in 2013 is 13,693. http://www.city-data.com/city/Fairburn-Georgia.html#b
It would only make sense the intersection at (Hwy 92 & Ridge Rd) would need an upgrade from flashing lights to the proposed installation of new traffic lights. The safety of the residences living in the surrounding communities would benefit from this initiative immensely. With future development coming to this section of Unincorporated South Fulton County, I am surprised a traffic light has not already been installed. As, this corridor is slated for additional 1000+ homeowners before the end of 2016.
