67th street in Muscatine going into Fruitland has a current speed limit of 35mph, and is also the main road that leads from Muscatine into Fruitland. It leads to the only gas station connected to Fruitland and the highway. This is a busy road. It is also a residential road. There is no sidewalk for children to ride safely into Fruitland to the park, or to and from a friends house. This road needs a sidewalk to allow children to safely play without the dangers or quick traffic in a residential neighborhood.

Watching the cars fly past our homes while kids try to navigate the grass makes me realize how urgent this truly is. I have been speaking with neighbors who are just as worried as I am about the danger on this stretch of road. We will keep pushing until these kids have a safe path to the park.

Seeing this momentum grow proves that I am not the only one terrified for our kids every time they head toward the park. It is a relief to know that so many neighbors believe our street should be safe enough for them to walk without fear.

Definitely need ! I've seen cars coming too close to injuring little kids riding their bikes in the middle of the road .

If anyone don't think we need this, take a walk from fruitland to the gas station!

What a wonderful idea! The side walk would connect our little Island community!!

I'm always seeing kids walking on the should've of the road. A sidewalk would definitely be much safer!

Kids walk back and forth from the gas station all the time and cars are constantly swerving around them. It seems pretty logical to put in a side walk. It keeps everyone safe.

A safe sidewalk is needed on 67th st. For childrens safety. Let us no wait until a child is killed.
