A Safer Caton Avenue for Kensington-Windsor Terrace

Please help. This intersection is dangerous for kids and adults. Thank you.

I walk my dogs through this area every weekday morning while children are being walked to P.S. 130. The traffic congestion and the speed of cars is frightening. Something has to be done.

I walk my son to and from school because the traffic is to crazy for the kids and adults. Please help improve the street crossing for our kids. Thank you.

This is a great start! But Caton Ave is a speedway even further up, from McDonald Ave, for cars, tractor-trailers, etc. Ideally, we should enhance safety along this entire path that is adjacent to 3 schools!

This intersection is incredibly dangerous. Not to mention drivers BLOWING thru red lights all the time because the police is never around and there are not cameras to catch them. And they know this.

My kids cross the street every day to get to school bus and subway. After 18 years in the neighborhood and too many accidents we need some change to the safety of the crossing OP/Caton Av. As a driver, it is not safe to turn left onto OP from Caton Av. Since there is no turn lane, I always fear getting hit from behind while waiting to turn as people cross the street.

Please put a turn signal in before someone else gets killed. There is no way that people can watch cars coming at them AND watch the crosswalk at the same time!

Sounds really thought out and would vastly improve safety for all in the area (pedestrians, drivers, bicyclists).

Caton Ave. has become more pedestrian heavy in the last few years. With the new school being built at East 8th Street we need to ensure the safety of our most vulnerable community members, our children.

The street at that intersection is especially hazardous for pedestrians, which soon will include many students from the new school.

I absolutely support the dot changes for Caron ave pedestrian safety and vehicular traffic. I would like to highlight concern for the Caton ave and Coney Island ave intersection as it is also treacherous.

I recently moved across the street from where that young man was killed and have been in fear for my life on a number of different occasions in the neighborhood, all while crossing the street with the right of way. I wholeheartedly support any effort to improve safety and create a more pedestrian and bike friendly culture in the area.

lived here for thirty years and we def need this more than ever, the area is changing and we must change with it!

The DOT proposal is a good one. Lets get this done.

These are great things to help with safety, but E. 5th St and Caton Ave is also a problem. I witnessed a woman get hit by a car turning left onto Caton Ave. She was walking across at the green light. There is a lot of impatience with this intersection.

Naiem was our neighbor, this is such a tragedy!
