This is madness really. We’ve lost teaching already and now expected to perform like everything is normal, it’s not right.

UCL should use extenuating circumstances for this. People are sick, looking after family, stuck abroad, all sorts of stuff going on.

A lot of us are dealing with travel problems, family worries and bad internet at home. Normal exams right now is just not fair.

Mental health has to be taken seriously here. Asking everyone to revise and sit assessments as usual during a pandemic is too much.

Additionally, many students will not qualify for statutory sick pay, so not only are they out of pocket for paying for a partially delivered degree, but also will not be eligible for government funds.

I strongly agree with the points raised in this petition and hope the university can find an adequate response to these concerns.

By keeping the current stance students are going to be able to achieve the best grades possible. Maybe some reconsideration is deemed necessary!

This situation is not normal at all and exams should not carry on like nothing is happening. Students are already stressed and the university needs to be more flexible.

If the deadline dates cannot be changed then consider giving students a grade boost, to at least factor in the loss of work capabilities. This was done for a lot of arab universities during the MERS virus.

I study at the Bartlett - in addition to everything said, one major implication of the disruption is our loss of access to the workshop (its tools and machines) as well as to computers which can run demanding softwares such as Rhino, V-Ray or AutoCAD. Whether or not my mother or father has a hacksaw in the garage at home that I can use to make a model should have no bearing on my grade. Whether or not my sister or brother has a gaming laptop that I can use to run design softwares should have no bearing on my grade. Unfortunately, our loss access to the workshop and computers removes the even playing field on which all Architecture students work. Furthermore, our degree work is directly used in applications for jobs after university, loss of access to these resources will disadvantage some and advantage others with regard to career prospects. Nothing about what is occurring right now globally is great, but this petition and its comments should be carefully read by those in charge of UCL and the University of London as a whole.

Not having the resources is hard when altering to build a portfolio when you can’t leave your home nor can you work to earn money yes to purchase materials needed. This is all on top of having to look after an elderly person.

As a student from Malaysia and doesn't live in the cities but very out of touch rural areas, anxiety on if my home environment or wifi stability will allow me to sit for the exam peacefully or not is making me experience insomnia.

How they expect us to carry on studying during these times are absurd. The majority of online classes are not recorded and a handful of modules are not doing online classes full stop. A simple change which would fix this all is changing exams to coursework. Postponing the exams only lengthens the duration of damage to every students standard of living, trying to balance revision with the scenarios at hand.
