A Proposal to Name the Wharton High School Auditorium in Honor of James ‘Jas’ Warren’s Lifelong Dedication to Theatre Education

I had Mr Warren my 10th and 11th grade year and he had a very positive impact on me. RIP ❤️

James Warren was the best teacher when I went to Brandon High School and went on to Wharton after my Senior Year. He shared his wisdom and grave with so many students.

Mr. Warren calmed and awakened many students souls and reshaped many lives with who he was as a genuine person and as a one and a million theater director. He humbled the entitled and gave everlasting confidence to the meal. You will forever be missed!

Thank you, Mr. Warren, for bringing the love of theatre to my children.

Mr. Warren was my acting teacher when I was a freshman at Wharton in 2003. The memories and friends I made in that class are still with me today. He was so dedicated and truly had a passion for theater.

He was Dedicated to Wharton programs and kids , and this is a proper dedication back , reflecting the lasting impressions made.

Would love to see Wharton High School’s auditorium named for Mr. Warren! A fitting tribute to his legacy!

I am honored to have worked with Jas at Wharton. But more than that I was beyond blessed to have been allowed to audition and be in several shows. On the stage I was one of the cast members, not Miss Lane. I loved every moment and yes, even the day I had to run laps in the auditorium. What he instilled in my life, and the lives of so many people, both adult and young growing up into their own world and lives. I don’t know if anybody else could’ve ever done that.

James Warren was the corner stone to some many people’s foundations and deserves to be remembered as such

This man brought award winning productions for over 20years. Contributed state wide in events and adjudicated many Florida state thespians all while simultaneously teaching a troupe of students the values of hard work, dedication, and perseverance in their own passions. This was his home

I only met Mr. Warren a few times, but I did attend several of his productions at Wharton. He was clearly dearly loved by the students, parents, fellow faculty members & administrators at the school and is sorely missed!

Jas taught me in stagecraft class back in 2011 when I was a senior. He taught me how to lead by making me one of the 4 or 5 class leads. I had my team of classmates that I remember to this day and learned how to direct and assist because of Jas. He was the first person to ever trust me with that kind of position. I'll forever remember and respect him for believing in me like that.

James Warren helped shape me into the person that I am today. He was there for me during some truly difficult times and I don’t know if I would be here today without him. He taught us to care of each other, to find beauty in unexpected places, and he showed us how to dream the impossible then make it happen. Mine is only one of countless stories just like this. He changed the lives of so many students at Wharton. He deserves this.
