A Plea from the Faithful

I have a dream, that someday Catholics will stand up for what Jesus taught us and stop trying to please the world.

The Eucharist is the source and summit of our faith

Please feed your sheep. Be not afraid to have masses once again. There are creative ways to celebrate the mass. If the the grocery stores and Home Depot can figure it out, so can the Catholic Church.

Your Excellency. Is it impossible to have Mass and access to the Bread of Eternal Life while maintaining social distancing norms? I fear that we have given up much ground by accepting that Mass is non-essential versus other "essential" services like Dunkin Donuts or the like. In Christ.

Continuing the suspension of public Mass is NOT "pro-life" -- it is fueling the culture of death.

I had already written to express my concerns with surrendering our First Amendment rights. This petition is another "essential" argument for having public Masses.

Feed our souls

Your sheep are starving.

There are safe means to provide the faithful with the Bread of Life Who only can sustain us through this crisis. "All of Catholicism centers around Jesus’ teaching that the nourishment of the soul is far more important than the nourishment of the body, that life on Earth is simply a means to Eternal Life.  Would you extend our earthly lives to the detriment of our souls?"

Dear Bishop, I cannot thank you enough for letting our Churches remain open and to be able to go to Confession. Please, allow those priests who are healthy and not at great risk, to provide us with the Eucharist. There are so many creative ways to do this! Please, prayerfully consider our request. God bless you.

We all need the spiritual sustenance provided at the Mass, even if we do no reinstate reception of communion. Take heart and courage from the martyrs in our glorious history, who risked certain death to attend Mass, and understood the limits of authority. Thank you for allowing the priests of our diocese to hear confession and for churches to remain open! Help us find a way to feed our souls and those of our children who are being formed by faithful attendance at the Mass.

Give us this day our daily bread.

Bishop Burbidge, Please give us back the public Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Give a dispensation to anyone not comfortable attending Mass, but please don't deny those of us who want attend the Holy Sacrifice.

Agree wholeheartedly with this letter. Public Masses can be allowed in a safe and reasonable way.

Be strong Bishop! Dont let the secular government classify our Church "non-essential". Please fight for the faith!

Prudence demands courage to overcome fear.

Eminence: We are all thirsting to receive our Savior in the Eucharist as soon as possible. As restrictions are eased in so many sectors, we anticipate our spiritual suspension will be stayed as soon as possible.

Bishop Burbidge, We are ALL respectfully begging you to LEAD our Diocese in all spiritual matters... and certainly including your full support in crucial issues such as the sanctity of all human life and our God-given ability to receive the Blessed Sacrament daily. In Christ, Brian Shaw
