A petition to remove Mayor Nikuyah Walker from Office in Charlottesville

This historic city deserves so much more.

She needs to find a “ perfect” city to mayor.

I am 69 years old and have lived in Charlottesville and Alb Cty my entire life. Race relations is this City are at an all time low and people like Walker and former counsel member Bellamy are a big part of this. Their racist, divisive language and behavior have caused unrest in this City and both should pack their bags and move on. They have created enough unrest here.

This city shouldn't have a racist mayor who calls other people racist. Nor a mayor who is unqualified to be one.

Walker has sought to increase division within the city and present a one-sided perspective in a vile and obscene way. She does not represent the spirit of this community and must resign now.

She is dividing the city and a bad influence on our youth. We need a leader. She needs to go

Her loathing of Charlottesville and many of its residents comes through in every line. How can a person like this purport to be a city leader let alone mayor? She needs to resign or face removal from office.

I am still new to Charlottesville and do not yet fully understand its history. I didn't even know Charlottesville had a Mayor until I saw the post about her comments a few days ago. I was shocked that the Mayor of any City would say such a thing about a City she leads and based on that alone I am signing this petition and yes I am also black. It should never be about color but about competence to do a job.

Her language is incendiary, and unprofessional. Elected officials should be focused on solving problems rather than hate filled publicity stunts.

We were enthusiastic about Ms.Walker’s candidacy. Finally an an African American mayor! But sadly she’s used her position to divide rather than unite. She has no idea how to conduct herself in this role. She needs a therapist not Facebook. Frankly I think she can’t stand white people.

The Mayor is not supporting our city by using social media platforms to vent her anger using incendiary language that ultimately causes harm to all in the city.
