JNU Admin should understand that it is the faculty and students which make the University and a faculty like Professor Thapar is synonymous with the name of the University. There are certain issues which are beyond the regular and justifying them with regular routine jobs like asking for certificates as per rules is simply disgraceful for the admin. Not expected from the administrative set up.of the best of University in India like JNU to act in such a ridiculous fashion and further justify itslef by saying that they had just been following rules. Rules are for the masses at large and not for exceptional cases and Emerati is exceptioanal if admin fails to understand this basisc it is at fault. You cannot ask the sun to certify that it is fit to rise next morning. JNU Admin must apologize to the Global teaching fraternity for hurting the sentiments of the academia.

In the name of following due process JNU administration has done irreparable harm to the university and to scholarship. What exactly are they going to do with the latest CV of Prof. Thapar? How are they going to judge the merit of her scholarship? I stand in solidarity with all those luminaries who have had the misfortune of receiving this ignominious communication. Actually the joke is on JNU administration.

Outrageous attack on a scholar of such stupefying stature. Reflects more on the lowliness of the administration than Thapar’s scholarship, which continues to be outstanding. Those initiating the move should question their own moral and educational credentials that cannot recognise the invaluable asset that Prof Thapar is for JNU.

It's a shameful act which shows total ignorance on the part of JNU administration of academic conventions and norms set up internationally and respected all over the world.
